Shdopp Ring


This one-of-a-kind Shdopp Ring were created by artist duo Michael Dopp and Shoshi Watanbe. Each ring is porcelain, thrown by Shoshi, and features unique glazed drawings by Michael.

  • Care- Glazed surfaces are food safe. Hand wash and avoid use in microwave. 

Michael and Shoshi have been collaborating on a series of ceramics for the past three years, featuring motifs like dice, musical notes, and citrus wedges. Shoshi throws the porcelain forms and Michael glazes them with his drawings. The duo’s offering for Spinelli Kilcollin features an array of their signature tropes as well as custom SK-inspired fare such as linked rings.

Born in Bloomington, Indiana, Michael Dopp received a BFA from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, and his MFA from the University of California Los Angeles. He has shown his work both nationally and internationally, including at Roberts & Projects, China Art Objects, 356 S. Mission and Night Gallery.  He works across different mediums, including painting, drawing, ceramics and installation. Additionally, he actively curates, collaborates and co-runs the gallery Arturo Bandini. He lives in Los Angeles.

Originally from Tokyo, artist Shoshi Watanabe spent part of his youth in Moscow before relocating to L.A. where he is based now. He works primarily in the medium of ceramics, and works across different fields, showing in contemporary galleries as well as doing custom work for restaurants and interior design clients. His most recent interests revolve around the intersection between the culinary and visual arts through the use of ceramics.
